Perfect Smile Spa is a leading cosmetic dental practice in the UK. We only have the best dentists and staff working here, providing top quality dental treatment and care.
Dr Jas Sagoo, Principal Dentist at Perfect Smile Spa, prides himself on the care and attention he shows patients. He never pressurises patients into having treatment, instead relying on before and after photos, and testimonials, from previous happy patients who have had treatment with us. These speak volumes about the kind of dental treatment we do here.
The practice is designed to change your perception as to how a dental practice should look. The lemongrass essential oil we burn is aimed to relax you, and remove the ‘clinical dental smell’. Free Internet access is available to all our patients and their guests, and a good selection of refreshments is also available.
The staff at Perfect Smile Spa are trained to such a level, that the knowledge they have about cosmetic treatment is almost at par with a cosmetic dentist. We like our staff to be trained like this, because many of our nervous patients, when they first visit the practice, often ask our staff numerous questions about the range of treatments we offer. Have you ever woken up in the morning feeling like you’ve been in a fight? Your jaw aches, your neck feels stiff and sore and you’ve got a banging headache? Just recently dentists have been warning that there is a general rise in their patients complaining of these symptoms. What they are describing is a classic case of teeth grinding, or to give it it’s dental name bruxism. Most people are unaware that they grind their teeth in their sleep, but many of their partners will bear testament to sleepless nights listening to the grinding noise coming from the person sleeping next to them. A lot of stress and anxiety contributes to bruxism and in the current economic climate, everybody has some form of stress or money worry. Another tell tale sign of bruxism is the wearing down of teeth, leading to pain and sensitivity. There are several ways of dealing with this problem cosmetically, one way is to restore the teeth using porcelain veneers and by the fabrication of a laboratory made night guard.
According to recent surveys one of the biggest turn-offs when meeting someone for the first time is yellow teeth. Don’t worry about spots or bad table habits, just make sure that you have clean white teeth and sweet smelling breath. Some women spend far more time doing their hair and applying make up than they do on brushing and flossing their teeth. Men are just as bad as they admit to not spending more than five minutes a day on their teeth and, unbelievably, some don’t even bother to brush them at all! The recent survey also revealed that if they managed to get through the first date with someone who had bad oral hygiene problems, 85% of people would not ask for a second date.
According to various news sources, scientists have discovered a molecule that can eliminate tooth bacteria decay in seconds. The molecule, which is believed to be able to protect teeth for several hours, was reportedly discovered by researchers at the University of Chile. Several reports have suggested that the molecule could be added to oral healthcare products, such as toothpaste and sugar free gum. The molecule has been named keep 32, is reportedly able to destroy streptococcus mutans which is the main bacteria in the development of dental caries. The molecule has yet to undergo testing on humans.
A recent study on behalf of the European Commission has made recommendations for the phasing out of dental amalgam fillings.

There are several ways of straightening teeth. The quickest way is with porcelain veneers and this also gives you the chance to change the colour of your teeth. The alternative is to have clear cosmetic braces which take from a few weeks with Inman Aligner to a couple of years with clearstep clear aligners. Of course the length of time taken to straighten teeth depends on how misaligned they are in the first place.
Old metal crowns can look ugly and if you are laughing in a photograph they can also appear black! Over the years the gums recede and part of the tooth root is uncovered, this can lead to sensitivity and there is also a risk that if not cleaned properly, decay can occur. Now you can change you old metal crowns to porcelain ones. These look just like natural teeth and so no one will be able to tell that you have crowns.
On average, studies have shown that once implants are placed they can last twenty years. This depends on how you look after the implants once they have been fitted. As with natural teeth it is imperative that you see the hygienist at least a minimum of twice a year and be meticulous with homecare, such as flossing and using the interdental brushes as recommended by the hygienist. You must also have regular examinations with the dentist so that an x ray of the implant can be monitored.
Implants are a fantastic way to replace missing teeth without compromising healthy teeth on either side of the gap. It must be three months from removal of the tooth before an implant can be placed. An implant can take three months to integrate with the jaw bone, but this is only a guideline as every case is different. Once the dentist is happy with the healing of the implant, the next stage can begin. This involves connecting a post to the implant and finally making a crown. This last stage could be as little as three to four weeks.
All teeth whitening systems use carbamide peroxide in the whitening gel. This works by penetrating the enamel of the teeth and oxidising the stains that are present on the teeth. As we age, teeth gradually become darker. This is mainly due to lifestyle, ie. Smoking, tea, coffee, red wine and highly coloured foods such as curry. All that whitening does is to remove those stains and brighten the enamel. It will not harm your teeth as long as the treatment is carried out by a qualified dentist.
All clear cosmetic braces are good at what they do but it depends on the type of misalignment and also the position of the teeth. The Inman Aligner only works on the front four teeth and can work in as little as ten to twelve weeks. Clearstep clear braces take a little longer to work but will work on more teeth. The latest type of clear brace is from the USA and is a fixed system called Six Month Smiles, this type can take from four to nine months to re align teeth.
