A dental implant has to be planned for, as it is not a quick fix and takes time and skill to do properly. If a tooth has to be removed to accommodate an implant, a healing period of two to three months must be observed. Once the implant has been placed it will take a further three months for the implant to integrate with the bone in the jaw, this is known as Osseo integration. Once it is established that the implant is firmly integrated with the jaw bone, and then a crown is placed on the implant to complete the treatment.
You will never be left with a gap in your teeth while all this is taking place.
