See the Hygienist! The Hygienist can help get the gum disease under control and even if necessary place antibiotics directly into the gum pockets to speed up the healing. You may find that for a few visits your gums will still be sore and bleed but eventually they will get better. The Hygienist will also advise you on your oral hygiene and how best to clean your teeth at home. If left gum disease will turn to periodontal disease where you’ll be in even more pain and find your teeth becoming loose.

Yes, we can carry out a procedure called Gum Reshaping. Using a special machine we can reshape the gum to make your smile higher. We can also make your gum line look more even. There is only a certain amount of gum that can be removed. During your examination your dentist should be able to give you some idea of how much we can remove and how your smile can look.
